French Inspired Tea Party

I have been busy in my studio making a new collection of mini dessert domes to list in my Etsy store. Remember the French Pin Dish? I am so in love with how beautiful it turned out — I am going to keep her in my china cabinet for a little while. Sorry, I can’t let go just yet! It reminds me so much of the amazing three weeks I spent in Paris many years ago. I picked up the yummy macarons from my favourite bakery here in Toronto called Bobette & BelleNow all I need is some tea and I am ready for a little afternoon tea party!

Black and Gold

Have you ever had one of those days when you needed to do ‘X’, and then before you know it, inspiration strikes and you start doing ‘Y’? After a few rainy and dull days, maybe it was the sunshine streaming through the window that made me feel like picking up my camera and doing a little photo shoot.

I have spent the last week or so updating my Etsy online store by adding new finished pieces as well as ‘made to order’ items. So, I played around with this ring holder, styling and moving it around until I had something ‘working’. I put that word in quotation marks because as an amateur photographer, I am still trying to figure out what looks good and what doesn’t as I go along. It does help that this is such a pretty, pretty saucer with little gold flowers.

I just adore this necklace that I bought at Bizou this past summer when I was in Quebec City. It’s funny, but when I was younger, I only wore silver and absolutely hated anything in the colour gold. At the time, I thought only ‘old ladies’ wore gold and I certainly did not want to be that. But trends and fashion have changed, and now I absolutely love the sophistication and elegance that it brings, especially when it is paired with black and white. Maybe I am finally growing up into a fashionable lady? Well, I certainly hope so! What do you prefer — silver or gold? I would love to hear from you so please leave a comment below.
